Around 6am this morning a bus was at our base to pick up our staff to accompany three trekkers on their walk across the Kokoda Track. Everything went according to plan and the trek got away on time and trekkers were dropped off at Owers' Corner.

On their first day on the track they have made it to Ua'Ule Creek. According to their guide Horace Yauga, they are all doing ok when he phoned in from Imita Ridge to give an update. Trekkers in this group include :

      [*]Peter Howard
      [*]Michael Dillon
      [*]Ryan Dillon

Trekkers are now at Agulogo campsite area where they are resting for the night. Tomorrow they will have a big day tomorrow as they continue their walk across the track up Brigade Hill and then down to Efogi for the night.

Earlier today they walked up Maguli Range which was a tough day in itself and stopped at Naoro Village for lunch before heading off to Agulogo.

Trekkers have now reached Isurava Memorial where they are spending the night. Along the way they have spent a night at Efogi and last night was spent at Templeton's I.

Today they had a long day walking down to Eora Creek then up to Alola Village before continuing on to Isurava.

Apparently it was raining when I received the phone call but their guide assured me everything was ok and they were all doing well.

Last night the group spent the night at Kovelo Village which is located a short walk from Kokoda. They walked under the archway early this morning.

Congratulations – well done from everyone of us here at Kokoda Trekking. At the present time they are on their way down to Popondetta in a hired 4WD and will spend their day looking around that area before flying back to Port Moresby tomorrow.

Picture them this morning as they would have made their way along the track towards the township of Kokoda with the archway seen clearly in the distance.
