MemberTrek 902 is on the go having left from Owers' Corner yesterday. The first trekker to arrive in country was George Hecht a doctor who flew all the way from America to take part in this trek. He will take home some artefacts from PNG which was purchased on Friday.
The other trekkers then arrived on Friday and were met by our staff. They spent the afternoon at the Royal Papua Yacht Club followed by a chinese meal at a local restaurant before retiring for the night.
Trekkers were then picked up the following morning and driven out to Bomana War Cemetery on the way up to Owers' Corner for the commencement of their walk across the Kokoda Track. Trekkers in this group include :
[*]Phillip Baker
[*]Jeff and Thomas Martin
[*]Todd Lyons

MemberErnst phoned to say that yesterday they stopped at Naoro Village for the night.
The previous night was spent at Ua'Ule Creek.
Apparently everyone is doing really well and the trek is going ahead as planned.

MemberCongratulations are in order for this trek as they ended up walking off the track today, 1 day ahead of schedule due to the congestion of the campsites all the way from Deniki, Hoi.
A decision was made rather than squeeze in with other trekkers that they would push on and reach our base in Kokoda, Orohaven. I spoke to George at Kovello area and he said they were all find, full of spirits and were looking forward to walking under the archway. Well done!
