Sue Hogg and her father Neil Sherritt flew into Port Moresby yesterday in readiness for their walk across the Kokoda Track commencing today 25th July.

Everything went according to plan, trekkers were picked up and enjoyed a night in Port Moresby before headng off this morning. On the way to the drop off point they were driven out to Bomana War Cemetery.

The guide for this trek is Dudley Bubura who called me this afternoon to say they made it to Ua'Ule Creek where they are spending the night. Tomorrow they are heading for Naoro Village.

Both trekkers are doing fine as they get used to walking the hills of the Kokoda Trail.

Dudley called in this afternoon from Maguli Range to say they were all fine and were heading to Naoro Village for the night.

No worries at all at this stage. Tomorrow they should reach Efogi Village.

Just heard from Dudley at 8:20pm. They are now at Efogi the half way point. Tomorrow they will head down to Templeton's Crossing II for the night. Both Sue and her father are going ok. Apparently its hot out on the track and no rain at this stage.

Trekkers are now at Dump 1 and tomorrow will head to Isurava for the night. Sue is always at the rear and Dad is out in front each day. Sounds like one fit guy and carrying his own pack. They were hoping to reach Templeton's Crossing today but just fell short.

Trekkers have now reached Isurava Village. Tomorrow they will walk off the track into Kokoda and celebrate their successful trek. Earlier today they would have experienced walking into the Isurava Memorial area before moving on to where they will spend their last night on the track.

Congratulations to Sue and her father Neil as they walked off the trek, under the archway and into Kokoda yesterday followed by a stay at our base Orohaven. This morning they were driven by road down to Popondetta and flown back to Port Moresby. Well done to you both for having completed a successful walk across the track. The plane shown below is situated at the Popondetta Girua airport.
