This morning we said goodbye to a group of friends who came to PNG to walk together with our team across the Kokoda Track. All trekkers are carrying their own backpacks and according to their guide Wayne Urina Tihima, they all look like young fit men. Trekkers in this group include :

      [*]Damintha Chandrasekara
      [*]Jason Collins
      [*]Hayden Huxtable
      [*]Angus Addison
      [*]Glen Schloderer
      [*]Ricky White
      [*]Brad Milne
      [*]Matt Warren
      [*]Brendan Rees
      [*]James Holborn

Porters on this trek all acting as food porters include : Cyprian Aire; Jessie Aire; Tom Hango; Horace Yauga; Cliff Taimbari and Trophian Ovivi

Wayne phoned from Imita Ridge to say they were heading down to Ua'Ule Creek for the night. Wayne mentioned that everyone was fine and doing well. He said they are all quite young so felt it was going to be a great trek as they will mix in well with all the porters who are walking along side of them. On this trek the fastest porters were selected as its a shorter duration and they are acting as the food porters.

All the boys enter our Kokoda Challenge Race. The guide is the second fastest man to ever run our race. Horace came 2nd in last year's race in 18 hours and Jessie & Cypran Aire and Cliff Taimbari are always in the top 5. Tom Hango won the race one year. Trophian entered for the first time last year. These guys know the track so well they can run it in the night as our race is a non stop race. I know the trekkers are going to love walking with these KTL boys.

Heard from Wayne at Maguli Range that they were all going well and heading to Naoro Village for the night. Below is a photograph of Horace one of their porters when he arrived at Naoro during our 2012 Kokoda Challenge Race.

Both treks 910 & 933 met up with each other earlier today around Brigade Hill area. When I was talking to Wayne from trek 906, he said they were all heading to Naduri Village for the night. All trekkers on both treks are doing great.

Trek 906 & Trek 910 seem to have stuck together since joining up around Brigade Hill. They spent a night at Dump 1 followed by Templetons and when Wayne phoned they were at Alola Village at 2pm about to head to Isurava.

The plan is to walk to Isurava Memorial this afternoon and arrive in Kokoda around 2pm tomorrow.

Everyone is well and looking forward to completing their successful trek.

Congratulations to these guys as they walked off the track today into Kokoda Station. Turned out the opposite happened last night as this group ended up spending the night at Isurava Memorial and the other group moved on to Isurava Village. At the present time they are at our base in Kokoda having some pizza's.

Well done from all of us here at Kokoda Trekking.
