During the time these two treks have been on the track I have been experiencing problems with my internet connections. Simply put, since the water has been put back on and the power blackouts have ceased, its been hard to play catch up.

I have however, quickly updated our 'Facebook' page at every opportunity that came my way so hope one way or the other you have all kept up to date with these two treks.

Re Trek 881: The family group consisting of:

Rod, sons, Lachlan and Ben and daughter Anabel all walked off from Owers' Corner on the 21st June and have not missed a beat until the other side. Ben felt a little off so a decision was made to walk out a day early so this group finished their trek on the 27th June instead of the 28th as previously planned. Photographs have been posted of this group previously which can be accessed by clicking on the following link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151028404150971.487923.374403025970&type=3 More photographs will be posted tomorrow when the camera carried by the guide Harold Hauro comes in off the track.

Re Trek 868: The group of 8 completed their trek today when they walked out into Kokoda Station. The group along with Trek 881 are presently relaxing at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat and will fly back to Port Moresby tomorrow morning. From the reports received, everyone except Denise were ok but she toughed it out. Earlier today I spoke to Denise and she said the track was tough and I will not repeat her words but she compared it to a root canal without a needle to put the gum to sleep! Before we stopped talking however, she was talking about a 12 day trek at some stage so think when she gets back to Australia and has time to reflect, she will be just so proud of herself. Trekkers in this group include : Matt Ellis; Daryl Outten; Denise Mitchell; Andrew Birkenfelds; Dom Sherlock; Brett Martin; Vic Sagasser and Marc Weakley. Check out the photographs if not already: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151028314170971.487905.374403025970&type=3 Mores will be posted tomorrow when I receive the camera carried on their trek.

Congratulations to both groups, you all did well and we are all proud of you. Looking forward to viewing and posting all the photographs tomorrow from your successful trek.

On behalf of Kokoda Trekking, thanks for choosing to walk with Kokoda Trekking. My apology for Orohaven running out of beer but unfortunately there is a liquor ban due to the election both here in Port Moresby and in the Oro Province and as a result obviously underestimated the consumption of

trekkers and the local population of Kokoda who had no where else to purchase beer.

Tomorrow I believe the liquor ban will be lifted here in Port Moresby and I will restock the tavern as soon as supplies can be flown in to Kokoda.

Congratulations once again on a great achievement of successfully completing your trek.
