MemberOn the 2nd June we met up with two trekkers, Jay Goldsack and Jerry Trust. These guys are experienced walkers and have trekked in various different countries so now with Kokoda, one more to cross off their bucket list:
On the way out to the drop off point, they both showed interest in wanting to visit the Wildlife Sanctuary on the outskirts of Port Moresby. The Sanctuary is only open on weekends so these guys were in luck!

MemberThe guide for this trek is Paulo Talanoa. Our guides normally walk in 'red' shirts but Paulo requested a black one:

MemberLast night the group were at Goodwater campsite and tonight they have reached Ofi Creek. Lots of mud so the going is rather slow but everyone is doing just great.

MemberThis team of trekkers and porters spent last night at Agulogo near Menari and today will have a tough walk through the muddy swamp area followed by a climb up Brigade Hill.
They will then head down to the half way point of Efogi where they will spend the night.

MemberTrekkers have now reached the half way point of Efogi. Appears it was muddy prior to Brown River and ok after they crossed over the river. They are all now relaxing at Efogi. Trekkers continue to do well.

MemberThese two guys spent two nights at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat so looked more than relaxed when I met up with them this morning after they had flown in from Kokoda.
I was asked if I wanted more Americans to come and trek with us, the answer was YES. To date we have only had a handful of American's and would welcome more if they would like to make the journey across the pacific to PNG.
In Kokoda they were invited to the village of one of their porters where the traditional dancers were performing due to some cultural event so these guys were lucky to have witnessed this.
Thanks guys for choosing to walk with us at Kokoda Trekking. We trust you thoroughly enjoyed your trekking experience and that you have many memories that will stay with you for the rest of your lives.
