Boss Meri
MemberMy apology, due to a technical hitch, I was unable to log on to the website, but all ok now so will now play catch up. On the 25th April we had two groups of trekkers attend the Anzac Dawn Service at Bomana War Cemetery who then went out on the track at Owers' Corner around midday the same day.
Trek 841: Trekkers are as follows:

Trek 872: Trekkers are as follows:

MemberOur attention then turned back to trek 872. Warren Turner and his daughter Lara and her partner Grant Smith were soon lining up for their photographs. Warren often posts on our website under the name of Waza. He is so passionate about the war history and back in 1942 his father was the President of the Port Moresby RSL Club here in Port Moresby. His father is buried at the 9 mile cemetery near Bomana on the outskirts of Port Moresby. So along with the walk for Warren its also a time to reflect and a walk down memory lane as he recalls his youth growing up in PNG. The photograph belows shows them at the airport when they first arrived on the afternoon of the 24th:

MemberBefore long we were bidding our farewell to trek 872 as they headed off down to Goldie River. I heard from my son Shane (trek 841) that they all got drenched as the skies opened up on their way down the hill:
