Boss Meri
MemberOn Saturday night two trekkers arrived around 10:30pm to spend the night in Port Moresby and fly the next day to Popondetta.
Arrive they did, and with an early start on Sunday, it was arranged that they would be picked up on or before 6am for their flight to Popondetta where they would be met by our staff and driven up to Kokoda.
Everything went off without any problems and with the flight on time, they were picked up and arrived in Kokoda around midday. Following lunch, they began their walk up to Hoi where they spent the night.
Trekkers are:
- Will Kelly
- Eamon Fitzpatrick
What is different about these trekkers? well they are both from Ireland!

MemberTheir guide is Arnold Jinga. I informed the trekkers that its Arnold's 1st trek for the 2012 trekking season so think he would excited to be chosen to walk with them.
Arnold was also one of our team of porters and guides who successfully completed two first aid courses in the past few weeks.

MemberIt appears plan a) or b) did not eventuate yesterday as the group ended up stopping for the day at Isurava Village and this morning walked into Isurava Memorial area around 8am.
Perhaps the guys found it tough going up what we call 'test hill' from Deniki to Isurava Village. Both trekkers are civil engineers but I was told did not train with their backpacks.
They have not yelled for personal porters so must be toughing it out!
Photographs: previous trekkers walking from Isurava Village to Isurava Memorial. Picture them today as they reach Alola Village which can be seen in another of the photographs.
