MemberWe were up bright and early to head down to the airport in time for the 6am flight to Popondetta only to be told the flight had been delayed until midday. So back home we went to wait for the 10am book in then back to the airport again.
The flight ended up getting away around 12:30pm. In Popondetta Russell Eroro was waiting with a hire car to pick up Shane and Meagan Sims to drive them up to Kokoda.
The earlier plan was to commence their walk after arriving in Kokoda and spend the night at Hoi Village area. However, I just heard that they arrived at our base Orohaven Kokoda Retreat around 5:30pm so no doubt they will end up spending the night there and walking off first thing tomorrow morning.
Photographs of Meagan will be posted later when Shane comes in off the track.

MemberHave just spoke to Shane and he said Meagan is powering up the mountain so they have made good time. I heard her giggling in the background as he was informing me of this. Picture them today when you look at the photographs posted as they walk towards where they will spend the night.

MemberTrek 799 will be picked up tomorrow morning at Owers' Corner around 9am. Tonight they are at Goldie River so I will have to be up bright and early for the drive up snake road to Sogeri followed by a slippery drive out to Owers' based on the rain we have been having of late. Will post photographs tomorrow so stay tuned!
