It was a busy day yesterday as we met our latest group of trekkers. Tamara Franklin flew in from Singapore around 8am and hung out with us during the day whilst we waited for Ben Huff and Graeme Guilford to arrive on the 4pm flight. At the airport Darren Lindow and Stephen Murray introduced themselves after having arrived the previous day. When Shane their guide arrived close on 5pm from Cairns we drove off to Bomana War Cemetery and then later arrived at Sogeri Lodge just on dark.

After booking into Sogeri Lodge they decided to drive down the hill to the Kokoda Trail Hotel to eat before going back up to the lodge to spend the night.

This morning our staff were driven out to Owers' Corner about 6am to prepare for their trekkers to arrive later in the morning. Trekkers had a slightly later start and were picked up close on 8am. Before we drove off from the Sogeri Lodge, we took a minute to capture the moment with a group photograph.

Russell Eroro waited outside the lodge to put their backpacks on the roof of our troopcarrier.

When we arrived at Owers' Corner it was still raining so we took cover under one of the traditional houses built there commonly referred to as a 'win haus'.

Last night trekkers reached Ua'Ule Creek where they spent the night. Everyone is doing just great and all are carrying their own packs. Today the plan is to head to Ofi Creek.

The guide for this trek is Shane Thomas:

Change of plans, Shane just called up and said they were heading to Naoro where they would spend the night. Everyone continues to do well but Tamara is experiencing some knee problems and one other guy probably wishes he trained a little harder but no worries, all are going along just find.

Trekkers are now at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat celebrating as 'Congratulations' are in order for this group when they walked off the track a short time ago. Well done!
