Yesterday we met up with our latest group of trekkers when they flew into Port Moresby. First to walk out was Rick closely followed by Charlie and Philip. Sometime later Antonello and Mark arrived on another flight and we found ourselves on the road doing some last minute errands in town before heading out to Bomana War Cemetery and onto Sogeri Lodge. Trekkers in this group include :

    • Brad Wease
    • Antonello Di Tomasso
    • Mark Brennan
    • Philip Young
    • Charlie Schwerkolt
    • Rick Indrisie
    • David Syme

David Syme arrived on a much later flight close on 9pm and was driven up to Sogeri Lodge to join the rest of the group.

Last night the first group met up with their porters at the Kokoda Trail Motel where they enjoyed a meal before turning in for the night.

At Owers' Corner trekkers met up with their personal porters.

Mark Brennan has the Kokoda Challenge champion Brendan Buka as his porter. Brendan holds the track record in an amazing time of 16 hours 34 minutes!

Jessie Aire met up with Philip Young who he will carry for during their time on the trek.

Jessie came 2nd in our Kokoda Challenge Race in around the 20 hour mark – a few hours longer then Brendan but still an unbelievable time!

The guide for this trek is Paulo Talanoa who can be seen here talking to his trekkers shortly before moving off from Owers' Corner.

Paulo just called in to say they have reached Ioribaiwa Village where they will spend the night. Brad and Rick have decided to hire a couple of Kokoda porters on their way home to Kokoda. Everyone is ok and all are doing ok.
