MemberYesterday, we welcomed to PNG two guys who arrived on a flight from Brisbane by the name of Allen Burton and Steve Phillips. As we drove around, turned out we have on this trek a guy from New Zealand and a South African who now calls Australia home.
As they were booked into Sogeri Lodge where they planned on staying the night, we drove out to Bomana War Cemetery on our way to drop them off.

MemberAfter Bomana I asked them if they would like to stop off at the Wildlife Sanctuary to look at some New Guinea orchids and birdlife and they both said yes, so we pulled in so they could look around.

MemberUnfortunately, this morning they were down for an early departure to head out to Popondetta so were up around 3am to prepare and drive back down to Port Moresby for their flight.
When we arrived at the airport this morning around 5am, both trekkers were already there ahead of us so definitely did not sleep in!
We went inside and then waited around for two other trekkers on another trek heading out the same day to arrive from the Crowne Plaza before booking in. For some reason or other it seemed to go on forever as one group ahead of us were booking in a large group and they appeared to be a little restless.
However, all was good, they received their boarding pass and were soon heading to the boarding lounge.
We have since heard they arrived on time in Popondetta and are presently being driven up to Kokoda where they will overnight at our base Orohaven Kokoda Retreat.

All was well and everyone was doing ok.

MemberHave just got off the phone after talking with Brendan Buka the trek champion. He caught up with this group on his way back from Eora Creek around 8am this morning while they were at Isurava Memorial.
He said everyone was ok and very happy. The plan was to head to Alola for lunch and then down to Eora Creek to spend the night.

MemberIts now Sunday and trekkers are heading to Ule'Creek where they plan on spending the night. At this stage unless they push on to another campsite, they should arrive up at Owers' Corner the finish line around midday tomorrow.
Everyone continues to do well and were on the move this morning around 7am when we got the first phone call.
