This morning at 6am Dean Willemsen and Nicole Spiller were collected from the Crowne Plaza and driven out to Owers' Corner for the commencement of their trek. Everything went according to plan and trekkers walked off around 8am and later today made it to Ioribaiwa Village where they are spending the night.
Sorry no photographs as Russell forgot to take his camera. They were taken however with another camera which went with the trekkers so on their return to Port Moresby I will post some when I get the camera back.
When I spoke to their guide Trevor around 6pm tonight he was more then happy with their progress today.
IMGP2698__Small_.jpgTrekkers passed through Nauro Village earlier today and are spending the night at Agulogo campsite area. No problems whatsoever, and according to their guide Trevor, are enjoying their trek.

P7130067__640x480_.JPGTrekkers have now passed the half way point of Efogi where they spent last night. Today they are expected to reach Eora Creek area as per the plan so will pass by 1900/Myola Junction and Templeton's. Trekkers and porters are still doing fine.
Efogi___climbing_the_mountain.jpgAs per plan the group overnighted last night at Eora Creek and this morning called me from Isurava Village to say they were on the home straight heading for KOKODA.
Trevor informed me they should arrive there around 3pm this afternoon based on their present trekking speed. He further advised that both trekkers have been doing extremely well and looking forward to walking into Kokoda.
Our base is ready and waiting for them at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat to welcome them.
D2_ISURAVA_MEMORIAL__Small_.JPGCongratulations are in order for trek 687 when they walked off the track today into Kokoda. After looking around the Kokoda Station area, they walked down to our base, Orohaven Kokoda Retreat. When I spoke on the phone with Dean he was just so HAPPY and could not stop talking about the trek. He said both him and Nicole had a fantastic time and that the guys Trevor and Terrence who accompanied them, were just the best blokes! I will meet up with them tomorrow when they fly back into town but for now, they are very happy trekkers.
