THE BIG GUNS ARE COMING to try and beat our PNG boys and to take the record back home to Australia as they are already in training and taking this event quite seriously.
The current record holder in both directions is our very own BRENDAN BUKA who grew up in Goroka but who now calls KOKODA home.

The 3rd overseas competitor to put his name down is none other than Richard Mountstephens who is also a seasoned guy who wants to win this year's Kokoda Challenge Race:

Two bookings came in late this week. Rob Preston decided to put this race on his list for 2012 and booked to run in our Kokoda Challenge Race as the 4th international competitor to enter. Check out his race results:

For those of you who may have followed our race in 2011 (refer group photograph below), there was a last minute entry from a guy by the name of William Bennett. William did not enter thinking he could take on the likes of Brendan and other PNG boys he just wanted to take part in the race.
Unfortunately for William he was forced to pull out around the Templeton's Crossing area. However he has booked again for this year's race so is a bugger for punishment and is coming back to try his luck again. This year no doubt he will train hard and plan on getting all the way to Owers' Corner.
