Boss Meri
MemberEarlier this morning Warren Pitt and his guide Shane Thomas walked off from Owers' Corner along with three of our porters, Clive Guvero; Tom Hango & Nelson Enoga.
Last night Warren and Shane spent the night at Sogeri as guests of Warren Bartlett's Sogeri Lodge. This morning they were picked up by Russell Eroro in my prado and driven out to the drop off point at Owers' Corner.
Photographs below were taken at the Sogeri Monument area:

MemberThe road was good so it was not too much later when they arrived at Owers' Corner where preparation was in full speed to allow them to move off a short time later.

MemberIts now 2:15pm and I have just received a phone call from Shane saying they were at Imiti Ridge and heading down to Ua'Ule Creek where they planned on camping for the night.

MemberShane phoned in later this afternoon and said Warren has asked for a personal porter. He is doing ok but the heat is getting to him so felt he would be more comfortable with a porter carrying his pack. This is a sensible move as there is no point coming to png and not completing the track when with a little help from a local will allow you to achieve your dreams and finish.

MemberThe team reached Naduri Village yesterday and that is where they spent the night. Warren has a rash which may slow him down a little but all is still going according to plan at this stage.
They will be walking down this track sometime today.
