The Trekkers arrived this morning from Cairns, were picked up and dropped off at Tropicair to catch the plane to Kokoda.

    The four Trekkers were:

    • Michael Tarling
    • Dean Maughan
    • Mark Rintoul
    • Max Tarling

Due to the rainy weather being experienced in PNG for the last four (4) weeks, we thought it would be wiser for the group to start their walk from Kokoda to Owers Corner, instead of their initial plan to walk from Owers Corner to Kokoda. They agreed. They were dropped off at Tropicair for our Charter flight into Kokoka with another four Trekkers.

Update 19th October: Last night trekkers spent the night at 1900 Myola Junction Campsite and today are on the move to Efogi Village the half way point.

When I spoke to their guide Davidson yesterdat at Templeton's Crossing all trekkers were doing ok.

When reaching Efogi our staff will stock up on the next half's rations before heading off tomorrow morning towards Brigade Hill and Menari.

Update 21st October: Sorry, no updates as we have had to move houses and the internet was only connected on Monday but we have experienced problems and today they came back and fixed the problem so am now able to update.

Following Myola Junction trekkers reached Efogi Village ok and then moved onto Menari Village. The next day they walked to Nauro Village.

The next time we heard from our guide they had reached Ioribaiwa Village.

Today we heard from Davidson at Imita Ridge saying they were heading for Goldie River where they will overnight.

Tomorrow they plan on arriving up at Owers' Corner around 8am through the archway when congratulations will be in order for having successfully finishing their trek.

Update 24th October: Trekkers came up at Owers' Corner as planned yesterday morning around 8am and were picked up by our drivers. Due to some landslides, they advised the road left a lot to be desired in some places but they all arrived back in Port Moresby ok.

All four trekkers flew out during the afternoon and as a result we did not manage to catch up with them last night at the Gateway Hotel but were informed by our staff and trekkers in the other group that they all did really well and enjoyed their trek.

Sorry we missed catching up with your group but glad to hear from our guide and porters and the other trekkers last night that you enjoyed your trek.

During your time on the track we have moved house and office and continue to not have much free time trying to get everything sorted and back to our normal every day routine.

On behalf of Management and staff, we would like to thank you for choosing to walk with Kokoda Trekking and our KTL boys.

We would really appreciate you posting a testimonial by clicking on the following link or else writing us something so we can post on your behalf stating your age category.
