Boss Meri
MemberTrekkers got to sleep in this morning as they were down for a 9:30am pickup for their flight to Kokoda. I must say all looked very keen and I finally got to meet MRS MOO who is a member of our forum and who has been active in posting and receiving messages. According to her she has been passionately glued to our website for months since she first decided to book through us. Now its her turn to be a trekker as she headed out to Kokoda with 7 other trekkers:
- Stuart Prendergast
- Jim Lamborn
- Gena Kyne
- Paul Evans
- Mary Howard
- Rochelle Howard
- Neil Barker
- Brendan MacLeod
In the hangar there was a citation jet parked and a remark was made as to whether that was their plane that they would travel over to Kokoda in. I smiled and said 'you wish'….
Sorry, I replied that plane is used to carry gold from Lihir to Australia and also to do medevac's and private charters and pointed to the aircraft they would be flying to Kokoda in.
For your enjoyment I asked them to pose in front of their first choice!

MemberHere they are again just before they boarded a Cessna Caravan. All trekkers were as happy as larry and rearing to head out to Kokoda.

MemberApproximately 25 minutes later they were on the ground in Kokoda at the newly renovated airport terminal building that we had done this time last year.
Take a look at the photographs and judge for yourselves. We turned the old terminal building of a roof and posts into the building and grounds you see today.

MemberUpdate 5th August: John radioed in this morning to say they spent last night at Isurava Village and now around 7:30am this morning walked into the Isurava Monument area which is approximately 1 1/2 hours from Isurava Village.
After a break there they will walk up to Alola Village and then down to Eora Creek where they plan on spending the night.

MemberTrekkers will head off tomorrow towards Templeton's and will spend the night at Myola Junction 1900 campsite. Most trekkers do not like this area as its quite cold and not terribly inviting.
