On Sunday I had the pleasure of catching up with Vern and Shirley Tessier who walked the track with the 'Lord Somers' group a couple of years ago. This year they decided to fly into PNG with five trekkers who headed out on the track and then while they were walking they flew off to enjoy Rabaul.

Their destination was the Rapopo Plantation Resort in Rabaul, East New Britain.

Everything went according to plan until their scheduled flight back to Port Moresby last Friday when the 'Civil Aviation Authority' decided to go on strike and their flight was cancelled. So instead of flying to Port Moresby and then on to Popondetta and by road up to Kokoda they found themselves stuck in Rabaul for a few days longer.

When I spoke to Shirley last Friday morning although they were disappointed their flight was cancelled, they were looking forward to spending more time at the Rapopo Plantaton Resort.

So much so that when I caught up with them on Sunday, they highly recommend their stay there and come complete with documentation, CD and photographs to help promote them.
